About The Event

The UK Data Services team at UST-Global have developed an enriched dataset developed to support business planning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Bringing together a host of disparate data sources including the NHS, Public Health England (PHE), HM Treasury, Office for National Statistics (ONS), wider UK government departments, social media, stock market and online search behaviours we have linked this data and are enriching it with insights we have developed using advanced and predictive analytics. Our enriched data are typically signals – insights indicating outliers, higher than expected or unwanted outcomes and behaviours and the relative risk of these outcomes - there are some examples on our blog.

In collaboration with AI Tech North we're organising a virtual data hackathon on the 6th October. We're doing this as we believe many more useful insights can be discovered that will be both useful in themselves and can drive further innovation and app development.

For example:

• Where and what are the opportunities for business investment and change to help get the economy back on track?

• How can we differentiate between the immediate (short-term) and longer-term impacts of the pandemic, the way it is changing the behaviours of society and the impact of these on the economy?

• How can we determine the most effective interventions: where and to whom they should happen?

Many of the yet-to-be discovered insights and metrics associated with the above have numerous applications such as healthcare resource distribution, credit scoring, retail distribution planning and marketing. We believe that the collective efforts of a Hackathon could be key in helping us to help our existing and emerging UK clients plan effectively within the pandemic and as we come out the other side.

Join UST-Global, AI Tech North, our friends and colleagues from wider academia and industry for a day of using #dataforgood.
